Matt Hartford has spent more than two decades building a successful career in drag racing and has become a familiar name in NHRA Pro Stock. Behind the wheel of the Rottler Manufacturing/GETTRX Chevrolet Camaro, Matt is known for his competitive drive, hands-on approach, and determination to compete at the highest level of the sport.
Matt's racing career includes success in several different categories. He was the 2002 NHRA Sport Compact World Champion and the 2009 ADRL Pro Stock World Champion before making his way into NHRA Pro Stock. Before pursuing his career in racing and the performance industry, Matt served in the U.S. Navy in Nuclear Engineering, an experience that helped shape the discipline and attention to detail he still carries with him today.
Away from the driver's seat, Matt is President and CEO of Total Seal Piston Rings. He joined the company in 1998 and spent years learning the business and working his way through the company before becoming part of the ownership group that purchased Total Seal in 2019. Matt's racing background and hands-on experience at the track have played a major role in his work with Total Seal, helping connect what is learned in competition with the products and technology the company continues to develop.
In NHRA Pro Stock, Matt has collected national event wins, No. 1 qualifiers, and multiple appearances in the Countdown to the Championship. In 2025, he added another major accomplishment to his career by winning the GETTRX Pro Stock All-Star Callout and taking home the $40,000 prize.
Matt and his team take a great deal of pride in their family-owned racing operation. He remains heavily involved in every part of the program and continues to compete alongside some of the biggest teams in Pro Stock.
With the support of Rottler Manufacturing and GETTRX, Matt continues to be a strong competitor in NHRA Pro Stock. His experience as a racer, business owner, and team leader has made him an important part of the class and the performance racing industry.
